SIBB e.V co-organised two panel discussions in frame of official Virtual Delegation 2021

Virtual Delegation „Stay Home, Visit the East Coast” was organised by IHK Berlin, AHK USA - New York in cooperation with numerous partners from Berlin from 10-19th Mai 2021.

On 11th of May in frame of session “Jointly Shaping the Post-COVID Era” SIBB e.V was co-organising two transatlantic panel discussions: Smart City Mobility Solutions and #FinTech: Connections between USA East Coast and Berlin Ecosystems.

The first panel gathered mobility start-ups and companies, managers in public service companies, fleet managers, urban planners, managers, incubators. Best practices from Berlin and US Coast shared their ideas for reduction of individual traffic, optimization of commuting thanks to data and effective management with usage of AI solutions. The networking session allowed participants to get deeper insight to other businesses and connect for future potential cooperation. This event is co-organised with Berlin Partner – Innovation Smart City Department.

The session was opened by welcome words by SIBB e.V. & Smart City Unit (Berlin Partner for Economy and Technology). General overview and introduction to Urban Tech Ecosystems Berlin and NY / East Coast was presented by Dr. Stefan Franzke, CEO at Berlin Partner for Business and Technology & Jonathan Lane, AVP Urban Technology and Innovation at New York City Economic Development Corporation – NYCEDC. Best practices presented during panel: Torsten Vogel, Managing Director at PSI Transcom, Berlin, Paul Salama, Co-Founder & CEO at ClearRoad, Brooklyn, NYPSI Transcom, Berlin, Paul Salama, Co-Founder & CEO at ClearRoad, Brooklyn, NY, Numaan Akram, Founder, CEO at Rally, New York, NY, Beres Seelbach, CEO at ONO Motion, Berlin and Christian Sewarte from Drivery.

Second thematic panel will be dedicated to FinTech and answers the question: what are the strategies to tackle the growth challenges connected to the expansion to the USA? Speaker companies from both sides of the Atlantic Ocean shared their success stories and recommendations, where to start and what to be aware of.

Welcome words by SIBB e.V. and NYC FinTech Women created the right atmosphere for the event. Pitches have been done by Harness Wealth, Raisin GmbH, Vestwell and Pleo Technologies GmbH. Pitches have been wrapped up by session in Breakout Rooms.
