There are many important economic and political factors, why already in 2019 Berlin established Berlin Business Office in New York. So SIBB Unlock USA Business Delegation could not start in New York, before visiting its strategic partner. Welcoming session together with German American Chamber of Commerce, Inc. and Naomi Fujiki - Vice President, Strategic & International Partnership, New York City Economic Development Corporation and Kristen Kaufman, Deputy Commissioner for Operations and Strategic Partnerships, NYC Mayor’s Office gave an excellent overview of the strengths and opportunities of doing business in that city. 

NewLab, Brooklyn 

After ferry trip to Brooklyn delegation visited NewLab innovative hub where business meets innovation and technology. New lab empower entrepreneurs to come up with solutions to solve urgent global challenges. Different studios ( like mobility studio, Circular City, 5G and others) allows entrepreneurs to experiment and develop new products. 

After welcoming quests by Wolfram von Heynitz, Deputy Consul General of Germany in New York, invited quests could get to know better Berlin Tech Ecosystem thanks to presentation by René Ebert, Managing Director, SIBB e.V. Participants of the delegation, on other hand get familiar with New York Tech Ecosystem overview by Doug Binette, Interim Executive Director, New York Tech Alliance.

Evening was a great occasion to establish new relations and network with local representatives

Following day group has visited SAP Foundry in their beautiful office at Hudson Yards. Kange Kaneene, VP, SAP.iO Foundries North America introduced delegates to SAP Accelerator. Shared her experiences in approaching VC and investors in New York and related to many activities for female tech founders.
